WHAT WE DO

We teach Olympic style taekwondo which is open to all ages. This includes Olympic sports sparring and it is a great way for children and adults to gain confidence and utilize their taekwondo skills in a real-world environment and lose their fear of being hit. Traditional Poomsae or Patterns are a set sequence of movements that consists of the various fundamental stances, blocks, punches and kicks logically arranged in a meaningful order in response to attacks from multiple imaginary assailants. Each Poomsae pattern consists of an established sequence of movements which has a philosophical meaning, and each Poomsae has its own character and distinct quality. Poomsae teaches a student balance, technique, coordination and self-discipline. Self Defence is also taught Self-defence may incorporate many of the following elements: Educating in how to be more aware of one's surroundings, with emphasis on potentially threatening situations. Training in environments outside the taekwondo school. Avoidance of combat via techniques such as verbal de-escalation and calls for assistance. Training to escape or evade a threatening situation. Understanding of laws pertaining to the use of self-defence.

Through the journey of taekwondo, they all build lifelong skills like discipline, confidence, focus, self-esteem and concentration. There are also health benefits with taekwondo such as fitness, strength, stamina, flexibility and it reduces stress.
